Romania's President Nicusor Dan will have a meeting on Thursday with Secretary General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) Mark Rutte at NATO headquarters in Brussels.
The two officials will also hold a joint news conference.
According to the Presidential Administration, featuring on the agenda of the discussions will be the latest security developments in the world and on NATO's eastern flank, with a focus on the Black Sea region, a context in which measures to strengthen deterrence and collective defence will be addressed, as well as how to increase Romania's security through and with NATO support.
Dan will highlight the importance of the transatlantic relationship, reconfirming Romania's as an ally strongly involved in regional stability and security.
He will also underline that Romania respects its commitments at the NATO Summit in The Hague on increasing defence spending and will highlight the multidimensional assistance to Ukraine. At the same time, the Romanian chief of state will recall the need to strengthen NATO's support for partners, especially Moldova, targeted by Russia's hybrid actions.
