Justice Ministry announced on Monday the start of the selection for the proposal on the vacant position of chief prosecutor of the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA), which will be held until July 30.
"The Justice Ministry organizes, during the period of July 9 - July 30, at its headquarters in Bucharest (...) the selection of prosecutors in view of carrying out the nomination proposal for the vacant position of chief prosecutor of the National Anticorruption Directorate. The selection will be conducted under the conditions specifies in art. 54, paragraph 1, of Law no. 303/2004 concerning the statute of judges and prosecutors, republished, with the subsequent amendments and corrections," reads the announcement posted on the Justice Ministry's website.
According to the quoted source, prosecutors can submit applications for the leadership vacant position until July 23.
The participation application will be accompanied by the proof of compliance with the seniority requirements, a project on exercising the duties specific to the leadership position for which they are applying, a curriculum vitae, at least 10 papers conceived by the prosecutor in the departments where they held positions in the past 5 years, the last evaluation report of the professional activity of the prosecutor participating in the selection and any other relevant documents.
The list of prosecutors who meet the legal requirements to participate in the selection and the schedule of the interviews will be posted at the seat of the Justice Ministry and on the institution's website, until July 24, so that during the period of July 25 - 27 the shortlisted candidates will go through interviews with the Justice Minister.
The results of the selection will be publicly announced on July 30.
"The proposal / proposals of the Justice Minister will be forwarded to the Superior Council of Magistrates (CSM) - Prosecutors' Section, in order to receive the approval of that institution. Upon receiving the approval of the CSM, the Justice Minister will forward the proposal to the President of Romania for him to appoint the leadership position. The approved schedule might go through changes, depending on the number of registered prosecutors," the announcement informs.
