The government on Thursday analysed, in a first reading, a bill on criteria that will be the basis for the designation of essential companies for national defence, economic, energy, food and social security, as well as for the functioning of critical infrastructures.
"The Executive analysed, in a first reading, criteria for identifying the business operators of strategic interest in the areas covered by the Ministry of the Economy, Digitalisation, Entrepreneurship and Tourism, developed on the basis of the provisions of Law 200/2006 on the establishment and use of the Guarantee Fund for the payment of wage claims, as subsequently amended and supplemented," the government reported on Thursday.
These criteria will be the basis for the subsequent designation, through separate decisions of the government, of the companies essential for national defence, economic, energy, food and social security, as well as for the operation of critical infrastructures.
The application of these criteria will allow the establishment of a strategic social protection mechanism for employees in line with the existing legal framework.
