The University of Oradea and the Uzhhorod National University (Ukraine) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding, marking the development of an inter-institutional collaboration in the field of education and research, the higher education institution informs on Wednesday through a press release.
According to the same source, the memorandum aims to develop joint projects in areas such as scientific research, the exchange of teaching staff and students, educational activities, and the organisation of international seminars and conferences.
Rector Constantin Bungau, vice-rector Sorin Sipos, the dean of the Faculty of History, International Relations, Political Sciences and Communication Sciences, Gabriel Moisa, as well as associate professor Ioan Horga, PhD, the initiator of the meeting and a long-time collaborator of the partner institution in Ukraine attended the official ceremony on behalf of the University of Oradea.
Constantin Bungau introduced the university to the Ukrainian partners and emphasised the international openness of the institution he leads.
"Our country is a free, European country, so we have no limits regarding the international collaborations we enter. The University of Oradea is among the top higher education institutions in the country in terms of the budget allocated to internationalisation," he stated.
The rector also stated that the university remains attentive to the fundamental values of humanity in international academic relations.
The Uzhhorod National University was represented by rector Volodymyr Smolanka and the dean of the Faculty of International Relations, university professor Mykola Palinchak.
"Our university has 19 faculties and an academic structure very close to that of the University of Oradea. I am convinced that this partnership will offer us significant opportunities for development in multiple fields," stated Volodymyr Smolanka.
The agreement comes in the context of European policies to strengthen academic relations with Ukraine. establishing the official framework for cooperation and the prospects for joint projects in the field of research, academic mobility and the exchange of good practices.
