Turnover in market services provided mainly to enterprises decreased in the first month of the current year, both as a gross series, by 28.2%, and as a series adjusted depending on the number of business days and seasonality, by 9.8%, compared with December 2025, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics (INS).
Compared with January 2025, turnover in market services provided mainly to enterprises in January 2026 declined both as a gross series, by 4.4%, and as a series adjusted for the number of business days and seasonality, by 4.9%.
The 28.2% decrease in turnover (gross series) in January 2026 was driven by declines in turnover in motion picture, video and television programme production activities; programme broadcasting and transmission (-35.1%), information technology and IT services (-32.0%), other services provided mainly to enterprises (-29.0%), communications activities (-22.5%) and transport activities (-21.0%).
In January 2026, compared with January 2025, turnover in market services provided mainly to enterprises (gross series) decreased overall by 4.4%, due to declines in transport activities (-9.7%), information technology and IT services (-3.9%), other services provided mainly to enterprises (-3.5%) and communications activities (-0.8%).
Motion picture, video and television programme production activities; programme broadcasting and transmission increased by 8.1%.
'Net turnover (excluding VAT) is calculated by summing invoiced revenues resulting from the sale of goods, merchandise, works carried out and services rendered, minus rebates, discounts and other reductions granted to customers. The following are not included in turnover: the value of packaging returned after delivery; excise duties; subsidies received from public authorities or EU institutions; the sale of own land and fixed assets; rebates, discounts and other reductions granted to customers,' INS specifies.
