The three-month ROBOR index, used to calculate the cost of consumer loans in lei with variable interest rates, dropped on Friday to 5.85% per year, from 5.87% per year in the previous session, according to data published by the National Bank of Romania (BNR).
At the beginning of 2025, the ROBOR index stood at 5.92%.
The six-month index, used to calculate interest rates on variable-rate mortgage loans in lei, dropped to 5.93% per year from 5.95% per year on Thursday, while the 12-month ROBOR fell to 6.09% per year from 6.11%.
As for the reference index for consumer loans (IRCC), regulated by Emergency Ordinance 19/2019, it stands at 5.68% per year, being calculated as the arithmetic average of the daily interest rates of interbank transactions in the third quarter of 2025.
