Three-month ROBOR climbs to 5.90% per annum on Monday

The three-month ROBOR index, which is used to calculate the cost of consumer loans in lei with variable interest rates, rose on Monday to 5.90% per year, from 5.88% per year in the previous session, according to data published by the National Bank of Romania (BNR), according to Agerpres.

At the beginning of 2025, the ROBOR index stood at 5.92%.

The six-month index, used in calculating interest rates on variable-rate mortgage loans in lei, increased to 5.95% per year, from 5.90% per year on Friday, while the 12-month ROBOR rose to 6.00% per year, from 5.97%.

As regards the reference index for consumer loans (IRCC), regulated by Emergency Ordinance 19/2019, it stands at 5.68% per year, being calculated as the arithmetic average of the daily interest rates of interbank transactions in the third quarter of 2025.
