Social Democratic Party (PSD) Senator Lucian Romascanu said that "it is absolutely painful" that in this millennium, which he thought was "far from any armed conflict," "we are witnessing two unjust, hideous wars," which have no justification.
"The declaration encompasses everything we feel at this moment, after these absolutely criminal attacks that have taken place in Israel. I have had the joy of having been in the Holy Land several times. It is absolutely painful to see that in this millennium, which we thought was far from any armed conflict, we are witnessing two unjust, hideous wars, which have no justification and which, moreover, barbarically attack civilians, children, old people, women. We are here to strongly condemn, on behalf of the Romanian people, as their representatives, the attacks in Israel, to show and express our solidarity with the State of Israel, Romania's partner and partner with uninterrupted diplomatic relations with Romania for so many years, and through our declaration to show once again our friendship with the hard-tried Jewish people," Romascanu said on Wednesday in the plenary session of Parliament.
He added that the PSD and its parliamentary groups stand by the Israeli people and strongly support "all legitimate steps of the Israeli people, of the Israeli army for a rapid end to this conflict."
The Chamber of Deputies and the Senate met on Wednesday to adopt a declaration on the terrorist attacks against the State of Israel and the civilian population.
