The Minister of Transport, Ciprian Serban, signed on Thursday three financing contracts with the Romanian Intelligence Service, the Special Telecommunications Service and the Protection and Security Service, the investments targeting the acquisition of electric vehicles and the development of the recharging infrastructure.

"Today, I signed three financing contracts with the Romanian Intelligence Service, the Special Telecommunications Service and the Protection and Security Service. The investments, fully financed through the Modernization Fund, target the acquisition of electric vehicles and the development of the recharging infrastructure. The decarbonization of transport must start from the state. We cannot ask the private sector to accelerate the transition if public institutions do not set an example", the minister wrote on his Facebook account.

According to him, the projects will significantly reduce CO2 emissions, lower operating costs and increase energy independence.

"In the current context, security and sustainability are closely linked, and investments in clean mobility represent a strategic priority. We will continue to use the Modernization Fund for investments with the aim of having a cleaner, more efficient and sustainable transport system," the Minister of Transport said.
