Romanian duo Alexandru Jecan/Bogdan Pavel on Tuesday evening progressed to the men's doubles quarterfinals at the Madrid Challenger tennis tournament in Spain, prize money EUR 97,640 euros, after a 6-4 7-5 victory over Gregoire Jacq (France)/Szymon Walkow (Poland).
The Romanians got the victory in an hour and 14 minutes.
For their performance in Madrid so far, Jecan and Pavel won EUR 920 and 16 ATP doubles points.
In the quarterfinals, the two Romanians will play the winners between Erik Grevelius/Adam Heinonen (Sweden) - Pruchya Isaro (Thailand)/Niki Kaliyanda Poonacha (India).
