Romania's ambassadors to Lebanon, the Philippines and Turkey have been recalled to the country, the Presidential Administration announced on Tuesday.
According to the cited source, President Nicusor Dan signed the decrees regarding:
* the recall of Radu-Catalin Mardare from the capacity of Romania's ambassador to the Republic of Lebanon
* the recall of Dana Matache from the capacity of Romania's ambassador to the Republic of the Philippines
* the recall of Stefan-Alexandru Tinca from the capacity of Romania's ambassador to the Republic of Turkey
Previously, the Presidential Administration informed that the head of state signed the decree regarding the recall of Sorin-Dan Mihalache from the capacity of Romania's ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the Republic of Cyprus.
In a talk show on Radio Romania Actualitati, President Nicusor Dan stated on Tuesday that during the next month there would be 40-50 recalls from positions and, respectively, appointments of new ambassadors.
"We will have an important change this summer. Because the usual term is 90 days from the moment of the recall until the changes actually occur. I estimate that during March we will have 40-50 recalls and appointments at the same time, so that they become effective from the summer of this year. Including important capitals", said the head of state, pointing out that the usual term is four years of mandate for a diplomat, but it is exceeded for many of Romania's ambassadors.
