Writer Mircea Cartarescu will participate in two events in Stockholm on Thursday and Friday to mark the launch of the Swedish edition of his novel Theodoros, translated by Inger Johansson and published by the prestigious Albert Bonniers publishing house.
According to a press release from the Romanian Cultural Institute sent to AGERPRES on Tuesday, Mircea Cartarescu will appear on Thursday at 19:30 at the Stockholm City Cultural Centre (Kulturhuset), as part of the 'International Authors' Stage' programme, where he will discuss his work, with a particular focus on the novel Theodoros.
The discussion will be moderated by Swedish writer and translator Lina Wolff. The event is organised by Albert Bonniers Forlag in collaboration with the Romanian Cultural Institute in Stockholm.
On Friday at 18:00, the Romanian Cultural Institute in Stockholm will host a second launch event at its headquarters, attended by Mircea Cartarescu alongside writer Eva Strom. The two will read excerpts from the book in Romanian and Swedish respectively.
The Swedish translation of Theodoros was published with the support of the Romanian Cultural Institute through its Translation and Publication Support Programme (TPS).
