The primary energy resources increased by 4 percent in the first 11 months of 2017, compared to the similar period of 2016, a release of the National Institute of Statistics (INS) sent to AGERPRES on Friday informs.
The domestic production stood at 19.4 million tonnes of oil equivalent (toe), increasing by 852,000 toe compared to the same period of the previous year, and imports stood at 11.7 million toe.
In this period, electricity resources stood at 61.1 billion kWh, declining by 2.0 billion kWh compared to the corresponding period of 2016.
The thermal power stations production stood at 25.355 billion kWh, increasing by 7.2 percent. The hydroelectric power plants production stood at 13.3 billion kWh, dropping by 26.9 percent, while the production of Cernavoda nuclear power plant accounted for 10.5 billion kWh, more by 2.6 percent.
Wind farms accounted for 6.5 billion kWh, increasing by 756.5 million kWh and the energy produced by photovoltaic panels reached 1.8 billion kWh, increasing by 55 million kWh.
The final electricity consumption in this period totalled 49.9 billion kWh, lower by 0.3 percent than in the corresponding period of 2016. Public lighting recorded a drop of 6.7 percent and households consumption declined by 4.5 percent.
The electricity export reached 5.8 billion kWh, declining by 1.7 billion kWh.
