The Anonimul International Independent Film Festival has announced the opening of submissions for the short film and feature film competitions of its 2026 edition, with entries accepted until May 20, inclusive, organisers said in a press release sent on Monday to AGERPRES.
The festival includes two competitive sections dedicated to short films - national and international - and one section dedicated to feature films. Prizes for each short film section amount to 1,000 euros, while the feature film award - the Anonimul Trophy - is worth 3,000 euros. As every year, the Anonimul Foundation will also grant the Ovidiu Bose Pastina Award, worth 1,000 euros, to one of the short films in competition.
According to the festival regulations, available at http://www.festival-anonimul.ro, the feature film competition will present six films selected by the festival's selector, Ludmila Cvikova, with only films produced after January 1, 2025, running at least 70 minutes, subtitled in English if the dialogue is in another language, and having their Romanian premiere at the Anonimul Festival admitted for preselection; the results of the selection will be announced after July 1.
The short film competition will include fiction and animation titles selected by film critic Ionut Mares, with only films produced after January 1, 2025, running no longer than 30 minutes and subtitled in English (if the dialogue is in another language) eligible for preselection. The results of the selection process will be announced around June 25.
If materials do not arrive by the announced deadline, the selected film will be replaced.
The 23rd edition of the Anonimul International Independent Film Festival will take place between August 10 and 16 in Sfantu Gheorghe, in the Danube Delta.
