French President Emmanuel Macron is expected in Romania in in early May, according to official sources.
On December 9, 2025, Romania's President Nicusor Dan announced Macron had confirmed that he would pay a visit to Romania in 2026.
"I invited President Macron and he confirmed a visit to Romania in 2026," Dan said at a news conference at the Romanian Embassy in Paris, after a meeting at the Elysee Palace with Macron.
On May 13, the Bucharest 9 (B9) Summit will take place in Bucharest, which will bring together leaders from the region.
