One of Romania's main challenges remains the high level of energy prices during peak hours, and the solutions are increasing domestic production, investing in storage capacities and more efficient management of consumption, according to Energy Ministry Secretary of State Cristian Busoi.

In the current international context, security of supply is once again becoming an essential priority," Busoi wrote on his Facebook page, in the context of a meeting with a delegation from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Busoi said that he had talks on Thursday at the Ministry of Energy with the IMF delegation visiting Romania, led by Joong Shik Kang, head of Mission, "in an open and practical setting in which we analysed the main challenges in Romania's energy sector."
"We are going through a difficult period at international level, which compels us to act quickly, coherently and responsibly. In this context, maintaining economic stability remains an essential priority, both for citizens and for the private sector," Cristian Busoi added.
According to him, the meeting focused on analysing the situation on Romania's energy market and assessing the measures implemented and their impact.
"The energy market is undergoing continuous transformation, with rapid and difficult-to-predict developments, which requires firm and well-founded responses. We are facing complicated times, and coordination at European level and support from the IMF are essential in order to overcome them," the Secretary of State underlined.
