The National Symphony Orchestra of Romania will stage a concert on June 30 the Varna Summer Fest international festival, the longest-running classical music event in Bulgaria, at the festival's 99th edition this year.
The program is entirely dedicated to Ludwig van Beethoven and will be conducted by Cristian Mandeal.
The evening will begin with the Triple Concerto for violin, cello and piano in C major, op. 56, and will end with the Symphony no. 7 in A major, Op. 92. The invited soloists are violinist Svetlana Makarova, cellist Liliana Kehayova and pianist Itamar Golan.
The concert in Varna is part of a series of appearances of the orchestra in this period, in Romania and abroad.
The ensemble brings together musicians who were part of the Romanian Youth Orchestra and who chose to continue together, under a new artistic identity, an activity started more than a decade ago.
Before leaving for Varna, the National Symphony Orchestra of Romania will hold two concerts at the Romanian Athenaeum in Bucharest, on June 26 and 27.
