Russia further seeks to create social, economic and informational chaos in the Republic of Moldova, in order to influence future parliamentary elections, Moldovan Foreign Affairs Minister Mihai Popsoi stated on Friday, in Chernivtsi.
At the end of the Romania-Ukraine-the Republic of Moldova trilateral meeting he stated that "for three years Ukraine fought bravely not just for its future, sovereignty, independence and integrity, but also for the security of the entire Europe."
"It is clear that Russia further seeks to create social, economic and informational chaos in the Republic of Moldova, in order to influence the future parliamentary elections. I am confident that our citizens will not be manipulated and I have the belief that they will not accept an anti-Ukrainian, anti-Romanian and anti-European government in their country. The authorities of the Republic of Moldova are making efforts to minimize the harmful effects of the hybrid attacks of the Russian Federation and we further rely on the support of Ukraine, Romania to promote our European path," he stated.
In his turn, Ukraine's Foreign Affairs Minister Andrii Sybiha underscored that the parliamentary elections in the Republic of Moldova are important for the future of Ukraine and the entire region.
The Ukrainian minister said that Russia would continue to try to destabilize Europe's unity and the bilateral relations, mentioning that the elections scheduled for September in the Republic of Moldova are very important for the future of Ukraine and the entire region.
