Minister Natalia-Elena Intotero encouraged Romanians who live in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to submit projects to benefit from non-reimbursable funds offered by the Ministry for Romanians Abroad, informs a press release on Tuesday sent to AGERPRES.
The General Consulate of Romania in Dubai hosted the meeting between the Romanian Minister for Romanians Abroad, Natalia-Elena Intotero, with the representatives of the Romanian associations in the United Arab Emirates.
Romanians who participated in the meeting were interested in the financing opportunities offered by the Ministry for Romanians Abroad, as well as by the approach meant for the recognition of Romanian diplomas in the UAE.
In her turn, Natalia-Elena Intotero evoked the willingness of the officials from the Emirates to collaborate with the Romanian association, which willingness was also expressed during the official meetings that the dignitary had on Monday.
"The Romanian community in the UAE is in the beginning of its road, but I met special people, ready and willing to get involved, to promote the Romanian culture and traditions. Moreover, through the associations and the organisations they make, our co-nationals abroad can be better represented in their relation with the authorities. I encourage them, the Romanians in the Emirates, to submit projects to benefit from non-reimbursable financing offered by the Ministry for Romanians Abroad and I wish to have a permanent communication line with them, for together we can achieve beautiful projects for Romanians here," said Minister.
The participant handbook and the endowment with books in Romanian language are also resources that the MRP makes available for the Romanian communities, with the Minister underlying, during the meeting, that education represents an important component of the projects meant for Romanians abroad.
Moreover, Intotero encourages the representatives of the Associations to make the necessary steps so that a group of Romanian children in the UAE participate in the 2019 edition of the "ARC" camps.
Discussions also focused on one of the important projects of this community, the Romanian Film Festival in Dubai, now in its third edition, with the Minister proposing to everyone present consultancy on behalf of the MRP both in what concerns the financing line and the contact with the Romanian NGOs in other states carrying out similar projects.
Estimative data show that approximately 10,000 Romanian citizens live in the United Arab Emirates, most of them, approximately 7,500, living in Dubai.
