Romanian weightlifter Lucian Florin Cambei won two gold medals and one bronze medal on Wednesday, in the 56 kg category, Under-17, at the European Weightlifting Championships for U15 and U17 in Madrid (Spain).
Cambei (CSM Onesti), a member of the National Olympic Training Center for Juniors in Bistrita, won gold medals in the snatch (107 kg - new European record) and total (227 kg), and in the clean and jerk he won bronze (120 kg).
In the 44 kg category, also U17, Maria Andreea Onofrei (CSM Onesti) ranked 7th in the snatch (48 kg), 8th in the clean and jerk (64 kg) and 7th in the total (112 kg).
Romania is participating with a delegation of 19 athletes (9 at U17 and 10 at U15).
