The National Cyber Security Directorate (DNSC) warns that videos and materials are circulating online which falsely claim that Romania is preparing to host millions of Israeli citizens, including through the allocation of 3 million apartments.
'Beware of disinformation campaigns spreading on social media! Videos and materials are circulating online which falsely claim that Romania is preparing to host millions of Israeli citizens, including by allocating 3 million apartments. This information is completely untrue and represents a deliberate attempt at manipulation, aimed at creating social tensions, instilling fear, and fuelling antisemitic and nationalist rhetoric,' the DNSC points out.
According to the quoted source, the Ministry of Internal Affairs has initiated legal actions to counter these contents, including notifying the digital platforms hosting them.
In this context, the DNSC reiterates its recommendations to verify information from official and credible sources and to refrain from sharing alarming or unverified materials.
'Protecting the information space is a shared responsibility,' the National Cyber Security Directorate emphasises.
