The Social Democratic Party (PSD), the National Liberal Party (PNL), the Hungarian Democratic Union of Romania (UDMR) and Save Romania Union (USR) agreed this weekend on their ministerial picks for the ongoing Bolojan Government. Diana Buzoianu (USR) it the pick for Environment minister.
Diana-Anda Buzoianu was born on May 16, 1994.
She graduated from the Faculty of Law of the University of Bucharest (2013 - 2017), then attended for two years the courses of the National Institute for Lawyers' Training and Development (2017-2019); in May 2018 she obtained the Certified Information Privacy Professional certificate as an International Association of Privacy Professionals expert.
Buzoianu practiced as a lawyer specializing in data protection, commercial law, and real estate law at Reff & Associates (August 2017 - October 2020).
Between 2018 - 2019 she participated as a keynote speaker in conferences on data protection.
Co-founder and vice-president of the NILS Association - Bucharest branch, under the umbrella of NILS International, and president of the Bucharest Office of this association (Oct. 2014 - Oct. 2015). She worked at NILS International (Oct. 2015 - Oct. 2016) and was vice-president of the NILS International Office over the period Oct. 2016 - Sept. 2017. Coordinator of the Gara de Nord Civic Group within the Romania 100 Platform (May 2018 - May 2019). She also worked as the legal section coordinator at The Doctor's Hotline - Magic Camp (Apr. - Jul. 2020), and later as the legal section coordinator at the IMMpreuna Platform, https://immpreuna.ro/ (March - Aug. 2020).
Buzoianu carried out her political activity within the PLUS political party (Dec. 2018 - Dec. 2020) and served as chair of the PLUS Sector 1 branch (July 2019 - Dec. 2020).
In the December 2020 legislative election she was elected deputy in a Bucharest constituency on the tickets of the USR PLUS Alliance.
In the December 2024 parliamentary vote she was re-elected as a deputy on the lists of the USR. She is a member of the Standing Committee for Environment and Environmental Balance, of which she is the chair, and the Committee for Youth and Sports (since February 2025). Buzoianu is also a secretary in the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate joint Standing Committee on the combat of human trafficking.
She is a member of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Iceland and the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Singapore, where she fulfils the responsibilities of secretary.
