The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania (CCIR) is organising the Romania-Korea Defence Industry Day economic forum on Thursday.
The event is attended by nine companies from the Republic of Korea active in the defence industry, as well as over 30 Romanian companies from the same economic sector.
On Tuesday, a Korean delegation made up of representatives from some of the most powerful companies in the defence industry of that country, led by Byungro Choi, Vice President of the Korea Defense Industry Association (KDIA), paid a visit to the National Institute for Aerospace Research and Development "Elie Carafoli" (INCAS), as a continuation of the visit made by CCIR President Mihai Daraban to Seoul between 10-12 June 2025.
"The visit, organised at the proposal of the CCIR, is part of the National Chamber's ongoing efforts to mediate and, at the same time, facilitate the process of identifying and selecting Romanian industries and companies that will be involved in subcontracting a complex series of works and operations that Korean investors intend to implement in Romania, in the defence industry," reads a CCIR press release.
