Romania will respect, after many years, its commitments, it will respect the budget deficit target, Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan declared on Tuesday, adding that it will be lower than 8.4%, the figure that the Government aimed at.
"Looking back, in this half of the year, the measures that we have taken have put public finances in order in such a way that at the end of this year we will respect, after many years, the commitments that we have taken and we will respect the deficit target, so we will have a deficit lower than the 8.4% that we aimed at. (...) We managed to keep expenses in check and it is appropriate to thank all Romanians for the sacrifices made this year", stated Bolojan, at the Victoria Palace, after the last Government meeting of this year, agerpres reports.
He added that, for next year, if the taxes and fees that have been established are collected and there is prudence in the way the money is spent, there will be no need for further increases.
"For next year, if we collect the taxes and fees that have been established this year and we are prudent in the way we spend the money, there will be no need to increase other taxes or fees," the prime minister stressed.
