The population in the north of Tulcea County received, on Friday, around 6:15 p.m., a new extreme alert message, in the context of the continued risks associated with the situation near the Romanian border with Ukraine, this being the first time that so many alerts have been recorded in less than 12 hours.

According to the Delta Emergency Situations Inspectorate (ISU), the message was issued through the national population warning system, based on information provided by the competent structures responsible for airspace surveillance and security.

"We reiterate that the territory of Romania is not targeted by the attacks of the Russian Federation, however, given the situation near the border, the authorities are sending warning messages to inform and protect the population," an announcement by the Delta ISU reads.

The institution recommends that citizens follow the recommendations sent and call the number 112 if they notice potential emergency situations.

Two other RO-ALERT messages were sent on Friday around 10:00 and 11:00.
