Romanian tennis players Alexandra Dulgheru and Jacqueline Cristian qualified on Wednesday for the quarter-finals of the ITF tournament in Burnie (Australia), featuring total prizes of 60,000 dollars.
Dulgehru (28, WTA's 176th) prevailed in the round of sixteen over Russian Valeria Savinykh (26, WTA's 270th), 6-3, 6-1, in one hour and 19 minutes.
Her next opponent will be Swiss Viktorija Golubic (25, WTA's 109th), main seeded.
Jacqueline Cristian (19, WTA's 223rd) defeated, 6-3, 6-4, French Myrtille Georges (27, WTA's 217th), in one hour and 21 minutes.
In the quarter-finals the Romanian player will face Australian Zoe Hives (21, WTA's 303rd).
