The authorities are trying to identify solutions to debureaucratize the financing needed by companies that want to innovate in Romania, secretary of state with the Ministry of Economy, Digitalisation, Entrepreneurship and Tourism (MEDAT), Laurentiu Gidei, stated on Tuesday at a specialized debate.
"We are trying to identify solutions so as to deregulate and debureaucratize everything that concerns the financing needed by companies that want to innovate in Romania because it is very complicated, at this moment, to obtain preferential financing for sensitive areas," said the secretary of state.
According to him, MEDAT is running programmes to support this approach, Gidei referring in particular to "the microchip area, where we emphasise supporting entrepreneurs so that we can also have a production of microchips and electronic components."
He admitted that Romanians have low skills in digitalisation and that education plays an important role in the technological future.
"We know very well that the skills of the Romanian population in digitalisation are very low. We certainly need more involvement of education, of reconversion regarding the new technological sectors that humanity needs so much," the secretary of state explained.
Laurentiu Gidei believes that education together with entrepreneurs and a responsible political class can find the right solutions, so that "Romania can be part of the select family of countries that will produce and deliver technology in the coming years."
The publication Curs De Guvernare is organizing, on Tuesday, the event "Romanian Economy of Top Technologies: Companies' Adaptation to Global Trends - Assets and Opportunities," which will be attended by officials responsible for economic policies, experts in the technological integration of companies, major players in industries that are already technologically advanced or with great potential for retechnologizing.
