The Romanian national team qualified for the first time for the semifinals of the European Under-19 Football Championship, hosted by our country, after defeating the Danish team 3-0 (1-0), on Thursday evening, at the Arcul de Triumf Stadium in Bucharest.
The tricolors achieved a spectacular victory, through goals scored by Remus Gutea (34), David Barbu (58) and Ioan Vermesan (77), fulfilling their objective set before the competition.
Romania was obliged to win to qualify for the semifinals, while the Danes only needed a draw.
In the other match of the group, Spain defeated the Montenegrin team, 5-0.
Spain won the group, with 9 points, followed by Romania, 6 points, Denmark, 3 points, Montenegro, 0 points.
Romania already knows its opponent in the semifinals, which will be the Netherlands.
The semifinal with the Netherlands will take place on Monday, at the Giulesti Stadium (21:00).
