Prime minister-designate Ilie Bolojan is the most suitable person to make the necessary adjustments to the Romanian state apparatus, President Nicusor Dan said on Friday.
The head of state said at the Cotroceni Presidential Palace that Bolojan has proven, in the public offices he has held, "that he knows how to cut and streamline spending."
"He is the most suitable person and will have a partner in me," the president said.
President Nicusor Dan appointed the interim leader of the National Liberal Party (PNL), Ilie Bolojan, as prime minister on Friday.
"Mr. Ilie Bolojan is the most suitable person to make the necessary adjustments in the Romanian state apparatus. He is a person who, in the positions he has held, as mayor and president of the County Council, has proven, on the one hand, that he knows how to cut and streamline spending, and on the other hand, that he has a vision for development," said the head of state.
