"The Invictus Movement was born at the initiative of troops wounded in the theatres of operations and, slowly, it became a mass phenomenon, which is also supported now by the civil society. In 2015, after which, on the occasion of the 70th anniversary since the end of the World War Two, by Government Decision, we declared 2015 the "Year of War Veterans," then came this initiative that, annually, before the Army Day, which is celebrated on October 25, to have the relay race start from the three Romanian historical provinces and follow all the main routes followed by the Romanian Army and reach Carei on October 25. As this year is very special, for it is the Centennial Year, the relay race itinerary is longer than in the previous years, while following the same routes followed by the Romanian Army, but with more stops at the monuments and in the county capital cities. Today, the relay race arrived in Targu Mures and I wanted to join it again, and I think I ran for a half of kilometer or more, but what I believe is more important is the gesture and the respect that we pay by participating in the race to the Romanian heroes who lost their lives for Romania, to the war veterans and, not last, it is an homage paid to the Romanian troops wounded in the theatres of operations," stated Mircea Dusa.
