Football manager Mircea Lucescu underwent a complex CT scan on Tuesday that revealed multiple signs of ischemic stroke and pulmonary embolism, the Bucharest University Emergency Hospital reported (SUUB). The 80-year-old has been hospitalized at this facility for more than a week with significant cardiac arrhythmias.

The medical team treating him has analyzed the situation in detail and informed the family, the hospital said.

According to SUUB, the patient will remain under the strict supervision of the hospital's multidisciplinary team.

Mircea Lucescu was admitted as an emergency on March 29 after he collapsed during a technical meeting ahead of a national team training session. He was expected to be discharged on Friday, April 3, but suffered an acute myocardial infarction and was transferred to Intensive Care on Sunday night after his condition worsened, according to the hospital's earlier statements.
