The Ministry of Finance attracted 105 million lei from banks on Friday, in addition to Thursday's auctions, when it borrowed 2.187 billion lei, at interest rates of 7.51% per year and 7.33% per year, respectively, through two benchmark government bond issues.
The nominal value of the two additional issues was 60 million lei each. Banks submitted bids worth 45 million lei and 130 million lei, respectively.
The Ministry of Finance (MF) in June 2025 planned loans worth 5.1 billion lei from commercial banks, to which an amount of 705 million lei can be added through additional non-competitive bidding sessions related to bond auctions.
The total amount, of 5.805 billion lei, is 255 million lei less than the one that was programmed in May this year, of 6.06 billion lei, and will be intended for refinancing public debt and financing the state budget deficit.
