Minister for Romanians Abroad Andreea Pastirnac met in Brussels with members of the Romanian community of the region, representatives of the associative environment, as well as with representatives of the Romanian language media.
According to a release sent to AGERPRES on Thursday, the discussions agenda which took place on Tuesday, included funding opportunities granted by the Ministry for Romanian Abroad (MDR) for projects and activities, but also amendments proposed on laws that aim to support Romanians living abroad.
The meeting also tackled the support offered to Romanians wanting to return to Romania, the minister presented the measures adopted in order to facilitate this process, as well as the ongoing programme called "Diaspora Start-up," through which Romanian can receive up to 40,000 euro of non-reimbursable funding.
Taking into account that the celebration of the Centenary is close, the Romanian official expatiated the MRP project dedicated to the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Great Union called "Centenary by Twinning," which aims to develop associative networks created on the basis of twinning between localities, ensuring a structured, intense and multilateral cooperation between administrative - territorial units of Romania and the historical and emerging communities, according to the source.
The minister also had a working meeting with mayor of Saint-Josse-ten-Noode commune Emir Kir, during which they talked about the twinning process of this village with the District 5 of Bucharest.
Furthermore, Minister Andreea Pastirnac also attended on this occasion the debate called "The Romanian Diaspora in the European Union," which was organised on Tuesday at the European Parliament by Rombel, the Council of Romanians Abroad and GRASP.
