The Immigration General Inspectorate (IGI) could issue employment/detachment approvals on Romania's territory for 5,500 new workers foreign citizens.
According to a release by the IGI sent on Saturday to AGERPRES, the approval is in accordance with the Government Decision (HG) regarding the establishing of the quota on new types of workers admitted on labour market in 2016, a regulation published in the Official Gazette no. 158 on 1 March.
According to the said HG, the quota is established in compliance with the type of new workers admitted on labour market on the following criteria: permanent workers - 3,500, workers on probation - 200, seasonal workers - 200, cross-border workers - 100, high skilled workers - 800 and detached workers - 700.
"The employment/detachment approval is the official document that gives the foreigner, a citizen of a non-EU state, non-European Economic Space the right to develop lucrative activities in Romania," says the source.
IGI mentions that during 2015 it has issued 2,506 work permits, a bit more than in 2014 when it had approved only 2,346.AGERPRES
