The government wants to restart the whole working process and come up as soon as possible with a draft of a new emergency ordinance on the salaries of public employees, Prime Minister Dacian Ciolos stated on Friday in the meeting of the National Tripartite Council. The aim of the new act is not to change the existing law, but rather to correct it within the possible budget limits, he pointed out.
Resources should be allocated "where they are needed most and where their impact can be the strongest possible," he insisted.
"I have asked the Ministry of Finance to come up with an analysis it should be able to present to you, too, on budget calculations we have made and on the resources we can release," Ciolos said.
Vice Prime Minister Vasile Dincu and Labour Minister Dragos Pislaru also participate in the National Tripartite Council, which gathers representatives of the government, business and trade unions, of the National Bank of Romania (the central bank), of the Economic and Social Council (a consultative body of the Parliament and government) and other members agreed by the social partners.
