The Primaverii (Spring) Palace, former residence of the Ceausescu family, will be opened soon to the public, on a proposition of the Ministry for Public Consultation and Civic Dialogue.
"The Primaverii Palace, former residence of the Ceausescu family, will soon be opened not only for protocol events, but also to the public who is entitled to see an important part of this country's history. In Bucharest, at Primaverii Boulevard 50, is located the villa with the same name, the building where Elena and Nicolae Ceausescu, alongside their children Nicu, Zoe and Valentin have lived in the last 25 years of the two spouses' lives," says a post on the said ministry's Facebook page.
The dwelling, erected in the 1964-1965, after the indications of the Communist dictator and his wife, has over 80 rooms, including a cinema, a swimming pool and an impressive wardrobe, the source adds.
After December 1989, the protocol villa managed by the state protocol administration hosted several official delegations from Romania and from abroad.
A permanent exhibition is also planned at the 'Spring Palace'.
