The volume of construction works declined by 2.1 percent as gross series in the first quarter of 2018 compared to the same period of the previous year, while as an adjusted series according to the number of working days and seasonality it decreased by 0.3 percent, according to a release of the National Institute of Statistics (INS) sent to AGERPRES on Monday.
In the first three months of 2018, structural elements saw declines in capital repairs, 11.2 percent, and in new construction by 3.8 percent. Current maintenance and repairs works increased by 8.5 percent.
According to construction objects, residential buildings works decreased by 24.6 percent. Increases were recorded in construction and non-residential buildings by 8.1 percent and 7.7 percent, respectively.
As series adjusted according to the number of working days and seasonality, there were decreases in capital repair works and in new construction works by 5.9 percent and 0.7 percent, respectively. Maintenance and repair works increased by 7.1 percent. In terms of construction objects, the volume of construction works dropped in residential buildings by 23.1 percent. Increases were recorded in engineering and non-residential buildings, with 12.9 percent and 8.2 percent, respectively.
In March 2018 compared to March 2017, the volume of construction works as gross series decreased overall by 11.9 percent. On structural elements, decreases were recorded in capital repairs, by 24.8 percent and in new construction works by 14.5 percent. Current maintenance and repairs increased by 5.8 percent.
According to construction objects, the volume of construction works dropped in residential buildings and engineering constructions, namely by 23.9 percent and 14.9 percent, respectively. In respect to non-residential buildings, it increased by 3.5 percent.
As adjusted series according to the number of working days and seasonality, the volume of construction works decreased by 9.3 percent. On structural elements there were decreases in capital repairs by 22.5 percent and in new construction works by 10.6 percent. Current maintenance and repairs increased by 2.6 percent.
According to construction objects, the volume of construction works diminished in residential buildings by 22.3 percent and in engineering constructions by 9.8 percent. Non-residential buildings works increased by 4 percent.
In March 2018, the volume of construction works went up by 20.9 percent as compared to the previous month, with an increase of 60.9 percent in capital repair works, in maintenance and repair works by 26.6 percent, while in new construction works by 14.6 percent.
In terms of construction objects, there were increases in non-residential buildings by 34.2 percent, in residential buildings by 21.4 percent and in engineering constructions by 11.8 percent.
As series adjusted according to the number of working days and seasonality, the volume of construction works decreased overall by 9.2 percent, a decrease reflected in the capital repair works by 11.6 percent and in new construction works by 11.1 percent. Maintenance and repair work increased by 2 percent.
According to construction objects, the volume of construction works decreased by 21.6 percent in engineering constructions and by 3.4 percent in non-residential buildings. Residential buildings increased by 0.1 percent.
