The representatives of USR (Save Romania Union) and Romania 100 on Friday, in a letter sent to PM Viorica Dancila with respect to the completion of the Rosia Montana file for the registration with the UNESCO World Patrimony.
"We are facing a lack of necessary transparency in the Rosia Montana file, which could lead to suspicions of tergiversation on behalf of the Government, That's why, we ask you to offer us information related to the status of this file and the activities and actions taken by the relevant ministries in eliminating every suspicion related to this matter," specified the signatories of the release sent to AGERPRES on Friday.
According to the abovementioned source, the initiative to propose Rosia Montana on the World Patrimony list came after a request of "tens of thousands, who voiced this desire through street manifestations and petitions, with Romania managing to answer in a professional and exemplary manner so far to all the deadlines this procedure involved up to now."
The letter is signed by the USR Senator Vlad Alexandrescu, secretary for the permanent joint committee of the Deputies Chamber and the Senate in the relation with UNESCO, Mihai Gotiu, USR senator, and Oana Bogdan, member of the Romania 100 platform, former secretary of state with the Ministry of Culture.
Vlad Alexandrescu registered, as a Minister of Culture, in February 2016, the Rosia Montana cultural landscape with the indicative list of UNESCO, Oana Bogdan took care of the file (in January 2017) and Mihai Gotiu monitored the Rosia Montana case for more than 15 years (since 2002), first as a journalist and then as a Senator.
