The President of UDMR (Democratic Union of Hungarians of Romania), Kelemen Hunor, on Tuesday evening stated that Romania supports Ukraine, "but it cannot destroy its farmers," and the transit of grain must be ensured to third countries.
"We have very close interests: the Danube Delta and the grain market. Again, something must be said: Romania supports Ukraine, the resistance and resilience of Ukraine, but it cannot destroy its own farmers. And the grain market from this point of view is a sensitive one in Romania so that we need to ensure the most efficient transit to third markets, by sea if possible, as much as possible, and, of course, by land the rest. But we cannot allow ourselves to be destroyed, our own farmers to be destroyed, because then we did nothing. Ok, I understand that there are large quantities there, the land owners, plus the state need those resources that are obtained from the sale of grains, but they must reach third countries, not the Romanian market," Kelemen Hunor told TVR Info tevelision station.
