Officers at the Nadlac I Border Crossing Point caught 12 migrants from Afghanistan and Bangladesh trying to cross the border illegally into Hungary, hiding in two lorries, agerpres reports.
Both lorries were driven by Bulgarian nationals transporting starch and bird food to companies in Slovakia and Sweden, according to the accompanying documents.
"On thorough inspection, twelve foreign nationals were discovered, hidden in the cargo compartments. The persons were taken and transported to the sector headquarter for investigations. The border police established that the migrants were from Afghanistan and Bangladesh, aged between 14 and 25," Arad Border Police Spokesman Andrei Dinca said on Wednesday.
In both cases, the border police is conducting investigations.
