The three-month ROBOR index, based on which the cost of consumer loans in lei with variable interest is calculated, fell on Tuesday to 6.56% per year, from 6.58% per year in the previous session, according to data published by the National Bank of Romania (BNR).
At the beginning of this year, the index was 5.92% per year.
The six-month index, used in calculating interest rates on variable-rate mortgages in lei, fell to 6.71% per annum, from 6.72% per annum on Monday, and the 12-month ROBOR fell to 6.88%, from 6.89% per annum.
Regarding the reference index for consumer loans (IRCC), regulated by GEO 19/2019, it is 5.55% per year, calculated as the arithmetic average of the daily interest rates of interbank transactions in the first quarter of 2025, a level similar to that of the previous quarter.
