Romanian tennis player Ana Bogdan qualified on Tuesday for the second round of the WTA 125 tournament in Marbella, with total prizes of 92,742 dollars, by defeating the Croatian Donna Vekic, 6-1, 6-0.
Bogdan (29, the 95th in the WTA) needed just 55 minutes to get past Vekic (25, the 110th in the WTA).
Bogdan secured a cheque for 1,936 euros and 15 WTA points, and in the next round she will face Slovakia's Anna Karolina Schmiedlova, the 8th seed, who defeated Serbian Aleksandra Krunic 6-2, 6-4.
Schmiedlova (27 years old, the 92nd WTA) won both direct matches with Ana, in 2018, in the semifinals in Bogota, 6-3, 6-2, and in the first round in Bucharest, 4-6, 7-6 (4 ), 7-5.
