The Romanian teams had a flawless run on Wednesday, in the group stage, at the 50th edition of the Balkan Senior Table Tennis Championships in Istanbul.
In the women's category, Romania (Ioana Singeorzan, Elena Zaharia, Bianca Mei-Rosu) did not lose a single match in the matches against Bulgaria (3-0), Serbia (3-0) and Albania (3-0) and plays in the quarterfinals with Kosovo, according to the website of the Romanian Table Tennis Federation.
The Romanian men's team (Andrei Istrate, Darius Toma, Matei Dumitrescu) qualified directly for the semifinals after winning the matches against Kosovo (3-0) and Italy (3-1).
The individual competitions will begin on Friday.
