The relationship between the Republic of Moldova and Romania not only stands the test of time and is based on close friendship and shared values, but is growing stronger with every joint project implemented, Moldovan Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu said during a meeting with representatives of the Romanian delegation at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Romanian Foreign Minister Oana Toiu and Romanian Minister of Investments and European Projects Dragos Pislaru, the Chisinau government reported on Wednesday in a press release.

Munteanu thanked the members of the Romanian Government for the solidarity and friendship between the two countries and for the constant support on the path towards the European integration of the Republic of Moldova, agerpres reports.

At the same time, it was highlighted that last year Romania was the Republic of Moldova's main trade and investment partner. Bilateral trade exceeded three billion euros, while Romanian investments in the Republic of Moldova reached approximately 35 million euros.

'We are building bridges that go beyond geographical borders. From energy to road infrastructure, education, health and culture, we have ambitious plans and major joint projects that bring us closer to EU accession and improve the lives of all citizens,' the head of the executive in Chisinau said.
