Romanian tennis player Irina Begu scored her first victory in 2019, 6-1, 6-4, against British Heather Watson, on Monday, and qualified for the round of sixteen of the WTA tournament in Hobart (Australia), equipped with total prizes worth 250,000 US dollars.
Begu (28, WTA's 76th) scored her victory in 1 hour and 27 minutes.
Irina Begu secured a cheque worth 3,400 US dollars and 30 WTA points for herself for reaching this far in the competition, following next to meet the winner of the match between 3rd seed Chinese Shuai Zhang and Russian Ana Blinkova.
