Romanian tennis players Gabi Adrian Boitan and Stefan Palosi qualified, on Tuesday, for the round of 16 of the challenger tournament in Itajai (Brazil), equipped with total prizes worth 107,000 US dollars.
Boitan (26 years old, 331 ATP) defeated Argentine Andrea Collarini (33 years old, 233 ATP) in the first round, 1-6, 6-2, 6-3, after almost two hours of play (1 h 56 min), agerpres reports.

Palosi (25 years old, 484 ATP), who came from the qualifiers, won in the opening round against Bolivian Murkel Dellien (28 years old, 243 ATP), 6-2, 2-6, 6-4, after two hours and 42 minutes of play.
Palosi won a cheque of 1,740 US dollars and 10 ATP points, and his next opponent will be Ecuadorian Alvaro Guillen Meza (23 years old, 195 ATP), seed no. 4.
Alexandru Jecan and Bogdan Pavel are seeds no. 2 in doubles and in the first round they will face the pair Ignacio Carou (Uruguay)/Nicolas Kicker (Argentina).
