The National Road Investment Company (CNIR) signed on Wednesday with the Romanian-Hungarian joint venture Ventra Project Management (leader) - Utiber Kozuti Beruhazo Kft, a contract worth nearly 15 million lei for supervising works on the Transylvania Motorway, lot 3C2 Chiribis - Biharia.
According to a CNIR release, the contract, signed just three weeks after being awarded, has a value of 14.9 million lei and is funded from non-reimbursable European funds, the 2021-2027 Transport Programme.
Under the contract, the consultant is required to organise weekly progress and quality meetings on-site together with the contractor. Moreover, the consultant must also verify the contractor's work reports, issue payment certificates and continuously monitor compliance with contractual obligations and deadlines for submitting information, reports, documents, instructions, orders, notifications and so on, by both the client and the contractor. In addition, the consultant takes preventive measures to avoid the emergence of disputes.
The 3C2 Chiribis - Biharia section is 28.5 kilometres long and works that began in the summer of last year have reached 30 percent completion.
On lot 3C2 Chiribis - Biharia, 18 bridges and overpasses will be built and among the modern features are a "SPEED" system for monitoring and detecting travel speeds, a security system with equipment and cameras every 2 kilometres for road incident detection, as well as dynamic weighing systems for vehicles in motion.
The completion of this section of the A3 in Bihor county will allow uninterrupted travel on the Transylvania Motorway from Nusfalau (Salaj county) to Bors at the Hungarian border, covering a distance of 74 kilometres.
