The evaluation of Social Democrat ministers will begin with a self-assessment that will later be extended to the entire government act, Social Democratic Party (PSD) Chairman Sorin Grindeanu said on Wednesday.

Asked at the Parliament House whether ministers could be dismissed following this process, amid union dissatisfaction with Health Minister Alexandru Rogobete, Grindeanu declined to go into detail, reiterating only that the evaluation will cover the whole government.

"That's why I've said - not just today, but since we started this process - that the evaluation begins with a self-assessment. After that, we extend it to the entire act of governing. Nothing new. That's why I asked all six PSD ministers, as their schedules allow, to attend the meetings, including the regional ones, so they can tell us about the projects they have completed, those they would have wanted to complete, or those they could not accomplish for various reasons," the PSD leader explained.

When pressed by journalists on whether the process could lead to changes in the government, he replied: "Let's see. What do you want me to do now, carry out the evaluations on the spot?"
