President Klaus Iohannis said on Monday that through the Summit in Bucharest a very important page in the history of the Three Seas Initiative is being written.
"Today, in Bucharest, we are opening a very important page in the history of the Three Seas Initiative. I am especially pleased to notice that an idea, that only last year, in Warsaw, was just a concept, has taken shape in the last year and is now becoming reality. Such an event is particularly opportune as in the world we live in, the states' most important foreign policy objectives and even the national security objectives are tied to the promotion of our citizens' economic interests and well-being aspirations," Klaus Iohannis declared at the opening of the first Business Forum of the "Three Seas Initiative" Summit.
According to the head of state, after a period of exploration and conceptual crystallisation at a political level, the Three Seas Initiative must move on to the stage of concrete economic projects and pragmatic results.
"I have faith that this desired goal is beginning to materialize today, in Bucharest, with the occasion of the first edition of the Initiative's Business Forum. We are opening today a large-scale, significant event, reuniting over 600 representatives from the business environment and the academia, as well as officials that come from our extended region and the United States of America. (...) Through this forum, which will be regularly organised, we have at our disposal an extremely efficient tool through which we can stimulate investment projects and our region's entrepreneurial initiatives," President Iohannis pointed out.
