Romania's Supreme Council for National Defence (CSAT) passed the draft budget for the national security field and the Romanian Army endowment plan over 2019 - 2028, on Wednesday said President Klaus Iohannis.
"We analysed and passed a series of important measures regarding national security. The first matter is the passing of the Romanian Army endowment plan over the 2019 -2028 period. (...) The basic target consists in the endowment of the force structure with top-notch, NATO-compatible military technique and equipment," the president said.
Another measure is the passing of the endowment and capabilities to be sent in 2019 outside the Romanian territory.
"We have as many as 1,902 Romanian servicemen who will participate in missions abroad, by 27 more than in 2018. (...) We have also approved the budget proposals for the national security field," the president added.
